Take off

1. remove (something you are wearing).

Please take your hat off when you are in the class.

Please take your shoes off when you go inside a house because it should be maintained clean.

I put on my clothes in the morning. I wear them all day. I take them off at night.

2. leave, depart (often suddenly or quickly).

Was something wrong with Jim? He took off without saying goodbye.

When does your plane take off?

Sorry, I have to take off.

3. make arrangement to be absent from work.

Susie isn’t here today. She’s taking today and tomorrow off.

Jung took last Thursday and Friday off.
